Praise for the invisible America
This is the America of invisible heroes. They work two or three jobs; no not two or three jobs between the couple. Each partner, whether married or living together, has multiple jobs. They are young but cannot afford children. They make minimum wage or close to it and sometimes get benefits. One thing they are not, is lazy.
These heroes are honest, hard-working, and straight shooters. They are truck drivers, shipping and receiving clerks, shelf stackers, food service workers, and school custodians. These are the invisible backbone of America. They go to work and don’t complain. They form the infrastructure that holds the commerce, healthcare, and education, and other services together.
I had the opportunity to share a few words at an Amazon-Whole Foods event to acknowledge the local teams’ professionalism.
In praise of the Whole Foods Market Rocky Mountain Region Distribution Center.
